Rwanda Tourism: Using Eco-tourism to Protect Rwanda’s Natural Treasures
Rwanda’s Tourism Office (ORTPN) is helping visitors make the most out of their visit to Rwanda and transform their vacation into a great primate escape. ORTPN is growing sustainable ecotourism by evolving existing one-stop gorilla tourism in Rwanda’s north into multi-stop primate tours that include bio-diverse Nyungwe National Park in the south — the largest mountain rain forest in Africa , home to 13 species of primate, offering chimpanzee tracking and visits to troops of L’Hoest’s, Angola Collobus, Mangaby and Blue Monkey.ORTPN’s responsibilities include national parks management and conservation as well as the promotion of tourism and cultural heritage.
