Spooky moment Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web interview is disrupted by earthquake

Dakota Johnson was left – quite literally – shaken when an earthquake interrupted her interview.

The 34-year-old actress is currently promoting her new movie Madame Web, in which she plays Cassandra Webb, a New York City paramedic who starts to show signs of clairvoyance.

While speaking about the role – having acted alongside co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Emma Roberts – Dakota was thrown by some rumblings.

‘These younger women-‘, she began telling Entertainment Tonight before being cut off by the round of crumbling in the walls.

‘Was that an earthquake?’, one of the presenters asked.

‘Ok, we just had an earthquake,’ she laughed, while Persuasion star Dakota was stunned into silence.

‘Did you just do that?’, she was asked.

Dakota – whose character in the film has special powers – asked: ‘Did I?’

‘Do you like that we all just sat here?’, she mocked, noting how no one actually ran for cover.

‘That was fabulous. Continue, I guess…’

‘There will be an aftershock. That was a big earthquake,’ added the Fifty Shades of Grey star.

She was then informed that an earthquake was actually reported in Hawaii ‘hours ago’.

‘Oh, that’s what it is. That makes sense… spooky!’, a wide-eyed Dakota said.

Well, we’ve all heard of method acting but that one is on a whole new level…

Reacting to the clip which has now gone viral, social media users chuckled over how ‘unbothered’ Dakota was.

‘I’m so obsessed with the weird amount of nonchalance she displays at all times’, wrote X user JamieKM16.

‘She method acted too much and she predicted there will be an aftershock’, joked iamreversefunny.

User icanbarelyswim wrote: ‘this is so haunting..what does she know’.

‘Even the way she handles earthquakes is iconic’, said official_swad.

Dakota has been doing the rounds for press over recent weeks and made a series of headline-grabbing revelations.

In true Dakota style, the woman behind ‘That’s not the truth, Ellen’ gave us plenty more memes and viral moments.

One of those included clarifying her comments about sleeping for 14 hours.

Correcting 2023 reports that she does, indeed, sleep like a sloth, the US star clarified to Jimmy Fallon: ‘I didn’t even say that like that.

‘That’s a long time. You like to sleep 14 hours?,’ Jimmy asked.

‘No. I said that I can easily sleep 14 hours. But I don’t, like, demand it. I’m not a monster,’ Dakota said giggling.

Elsewhere, she discussed filming The Office US, describing it, shockingly, as the ‘worst experience of my life’.

In 2013, Dakota landed a small role in the finale of the iconic sitcom, which was based on Ricky Gervais’ influential BBC show.

‘That was honestly the worst time of my life,’ Dakota laughed while reflecting on the experience on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

‘I love that show so much, and they were like, “Do you want to be in the series finale?” and I was like, “Of course,” thinking that I’d show up for, like, half a day.’

Instead, half a day became ‘two weeks’, as she quipped: ‘And I’m barely in the f***ing show!’

Madame Web is showing in cinemas from February 14.
