The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in an excise policy-linked money laundering case on Thursday night. The arrest is the first for a sitting chief minister which came hours after the Delhi High Court refused to grant protection to the AAP national convenor from any coercive action by ED. The ED has filed a total of six charge sheets in this case till now and attached assets worth over Rs 128 crore.

The documents accessed by the Times Now Navbharat show that the Arvind Kejriwal’s home’s curtains cost between Rs. 5-8 lakh each. According to the records, 23 curtains totaling Rs 97 lakhs were approved for the national convenor of the AAP and the chief minister of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, spent Rs 3 crores importing marble from Vietnam for his home refurbishment.
Six carpets were bought for Rs 19,89,000 to be used at CM Kejriwal’s official residence. An amount of Rs 11.30 crore was spent on interior decoration. A whopping amount was also spent on installing Almirah, renovation among other things, check full report.

Delhi Chief Minister Arrest: ED Charge of Rs 100 Crore
Kejriwal’s name has been mentioned multiple times in the charge sheets filed by the ED. The agency has alleged that the accused were in touch with Kejriwal for formulating the excise policy that resulted in undue benefits to them in return for which they paid kickbacks to the AAP.
The ED had recently alleged in a statement that BRS leader Kavitha and some others “conspired” with top AAP leaders like Kejriwal and Sisodia to get favours in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy by paying Rs 100 crore to the political party that rules Delhi, said PTI in its report.

According to the 2020 election affidavit, Kejriwal’s wife possesses 320 grams of gold valued at Rs 12 lakh, along with one kg of silver worth Rs 40 thousand. Additionally, Rs 15.31 lakh is invested in SBI mutual funds in his wife’s name. Although Kejriwal doesn’t own any vehicle, his wife has a Maruti Baleno valued at Rs 6.20 lakh registered in her name.
Luxurious Residence in Haryana
Arvind Kejriwal’s wife owns a lavish house in Gurugram, Haryana, purchased in 2010. In 2020, its value was estimated at around Rs 1 crore, whereas its initial purchase price was Rs 60 lakh. Additionally, Kejriwal holds non-agricultural land in Ghaziabad and Haryana, valued at Rs 1.77 crore as of 2020.
