CODEPINK Dallas Joined Protest Against Raytheon’s Arming of Genocide

The message was clear – HANDS OFF RAFAH NOW!

Thursday night, CODEPINK  joined a coalition of organizations in a protest against Raytheon’s complicity in arming the genocide in Gaza by Israel.

Raytheon Technology employees leaving for home at the end of a long day of war profiteering, were met with a coalition of Palestine solidarity organizers making it clear: “Raytheon Raytheon you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide!” With over 140 days and 75 years of genocidal occupation, organizers in Dallas have no plans to stop showing up and fighting for a free Palestine.

Recent reports have shed light on the devastating situation in Rafah, where over 1.4 million Palestinians reside, a significant portion of whom have been forcibly displaced from other areas in Gaza. A recent massacre, backed by weapons supplied by Raytheon, resulted in the tragic loss of over 70 lives and left more than 230 individuals wounded. Homes and mosques, serving as shelters for many, have become targets of US-funded Israeli strikes.

As Israel plans to escalate their genocidal actions with a ground invasion in Rafah, CODEPINK and its allies emphasize the urgent need to protect the lives and rights of the people in Gaza and across Palestine. The coalition demanded an immediate halt to this genocidal aggression.

In solidarity with the besieged people of Gaza, the rally underscored the moral obligation to answer their call for support. Participating organizations refuse to stand idly by as innocent lives are lost and condemn the role of companies like Raytheon, which profit from the suffering and destruction inflicted upon communities. Raytheon’s supply of advanced weaponry, including ASM missiles for F-16 jets, cluster bombs, and bunker busters, directly contributes to the violence and loss of life in the region.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is a corporate playground for weapons manufacturers, but resistance is also strong here. The Palestinian community is strong here, and the rest of us are still showing up in solidarity for as long as they need us, til the occupation ends.

CODEPINK and allies will continue to mobilize actions like today across the country until the Israel’s genocide in Gaza ends. The US must cease its complicity, and companies like Raytheon must be held accountable for their role in perpetuating violence and suffering.
