CVP to co-host several activities at 2024 Ocean Sciences Meeting – Climate Program Office

CPO’s Climate Variability and Predictability Program (CVP) alongside NOAA’s Global Ocean Monitoring and Observing Program (GOMO) will be co-hosting several activities at the 2024 Ocean Sciences Meeting during the week of February 18-23 in New Orleans, LA. The activities will be centered around the Tropical Pacific Observing System (TPOS) and related process studies – TPOS Equatorial Pacific Experiment (TEPEX).
From CPO, CVP’s Virginia Selz and Jose Algarin will attend, while Cheyenne Stienbarger will be representing GOMO. Additionally, the TEPEX effort includes collaborations with researchers from NOAA’s laboratories and cooperative institutes including GFDL, PSL, PMEL, and CICOES, whose representatives will be in attendance as well. Most recently, two successful TEPEX townhalls were held at both AGU and AMS Meetings.
The activities include a townhall, and both an oral and poster presentations. The main objectives are to inform the broader scientific community about TPOS implementation and TEPEX planning, and provide an opportunity for community engagement input.
