Interview with Ross T. Osborne

Q: What is your name, title, and role at your company?
A: My name is Ross T. Osborne, and I am the Managing Partner at Phase II.

Q: What does your company do?
A: Phase II is a SBA and CVE Verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Quantico, Virginia. We are a hybrid business that offers a range of services, including Capture and Business Development Consulting, Program/Project Management, Cyber/IT Technical Support, CMMC evaluation and assistance, and Identity and Access Management services. We also develop innovative, US-made technologies to address critical challenges faced by our customers.

Q: What are some neat projects that your company is currently working on?
A: Currently, we are focused on introducing paradigm-changing cybersecurity and Identity and Access Management technologies to the US Government. Additionally, we are working to bring these Defense Grade Technologies to State and Local Governments as well as Small Businesses. We believe that these technologies are not only affordable but also easy to integrate, providing immediate benefits to these organizations.

Q: How would you describe your company’s culture?
A: Our culture is deeply rooted in service, both to the community and to each other. As a company primarily composed of veterans, Phase II’s mission is to help veterans and their families find their second phase of life, which is why we named our company Phase II. We consider our employees as teammates who work together like a family.

Q: How does your company differentiate itself from your competitors?
A: We differentiate ourselves from our competitors through our performance, which often leads to positive word-of-mouth advertising. Our professionalism and ability to find the right teammate for the job set us apart. We are known for our adaptability and innovative approaches to problem-solving.

Q: If you could see anyone in concert, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
A: If given the opportunity, I would love to see Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis Jr. in concert. I have an old soul and appreciate the timeless talent and charisma of these legendary performers.

Interview with Nate Goodall

Q: What is your name, title, and role at your company?
A: I’m Nate Goodall, the Sr. Manager for Business Development at Phase II. My role involves finding ways our company can help solve other organizations’ difficult problems through mutually beneficial business relationships.

Q: What are some neat projects that your company is currently working on?
A: We have a couple of exciting projects in progress. Our ICAM (Identity, Credential, and Access Management) and Ridgeback products are particularly noteworthy as they enable us to be a solutions provider across diverse areas in government and the commercial sector. These innovative technologies allow us to expand our services business. Additionally, Phase II is dedicated to helping veterans transition to the civilian sector, which is a personal favorite among our projects. Ross and Troy Douglas, our VP of Business Development, work diligently to assist veterans in navigating their post-service options, ensuring they have the support they need to make informed decisions based on their desires and needs.

Q: How does your company differentiate itself from your competitors?
A: One of the key factors that set us apart is our excellent reputation with our customers. Many of our customers are individuals we have served with and have known for years. They recognize that we work hard to provide solutions we genuinely believe in. We extend the same approach to new customers, placing our integrity and reputation at the forefront of our business. Additionally, our company culture emphasizes friendliness and a family-focused environment. We support and empower each other while fostering a candid atmosphere where the best approaches prevail.

Q: If you could see anyone in concert, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
A: I have quite varied tastes in music. If I had the chance, I would love to witness Queen performing at Live Aid in 1985. They were incredibly talented musicians, and I would be thrilled to see Freddie Mercury energize the crowd firsthand. On a different note, I would also be fascinated to go back in time and see Mozart play some of his own compositions or Bach playing the organ in Dresden. Both Mozart and Bach were renowned composers and performers of their time, and it would be a unique experience to witness their original interpretations.
