The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Central and north-central Illinois
* Effective this Thursday morning from 315 AM until 1000 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...A band of strong-severe thunderstorms, with a history of
measured severe gusts over northeastern MO, is expected to persist
into more of IL over the next few hours, riding along a warm-frontal
zone. Additional damaging to severe gusts are possible, as well as
severe hail from more isolated cells north of the warm front.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles north and south of a line from 45 miles west southwest
of Peoria IL to 50 miles northeast of Champaign IL. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
