NSF Director Panchanathan welcomed Ireland’s science minister to NSF headquarters this week and joined a working dinner discussion at the United States. Chamber of Commerce’s United States.-India Business Council (USIBC).
On Wednesday, his conversation with Simon Harris, Ireland’s minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, H.E. Geraldine Byrne Nason, ambassador of Ireland to the United States, and other delegates focused on highlighting the strength and breadth of ongoing collaborations between the two countries as well as potential new opportunities.
Harris also shared his newly launched Global Citizens 2030 Talent and Innovation Strategy. The director and Harris discussed the close alignment of their visions for harnessing talent and creating opportunities everywhere.
Thursday evening, the director attended the USIBC dinner to share NSF’s progress, priorities and goals in research and development and the future of bilateral and multilateral partnerships, including the United States.-India relationship.
The event coincided with the USIBC announcement launching its AI Task Force, a pivotal step to align and propel United States. and Indian leadership in artificial intelligence.
