Ms Mary Barton-Dock, Director of Climate Policy and Finance, The World Bank during the session ‘Accelerating the Transition to a Sustainable Economy’ at the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit Barton-Dock highlighted the need to create incentives and disincentives that lead to a change in the behaviour of both consumers and private companies to be able to transition towards a greener planet of 7 billion people, a number that is growing every minute, is likely to face increased conflicts over scarce resources. So unless we begin to use our resources efficiently, we are likely to reach tipping points that will not only harm our own well-being, but also that of our future generations.
