The students are the designers, fabricators, mechanics, programmers, and operators of their robot. With support from their teachers, alumni, and mentors, the students of Trickum Middle Robotics have created a nationally competitive robot.

In the year of the Tiger, supporting your Trickum Robo Tigers is a click away!

The Trickum Lego Robotics team, the TigerBots, has advanced to the FIRST World Championship, which will take place on April 20–23rd in Houston, Texas! Traveling to Houston is a significant expense and we need sponsors to help us continue on this exciting adventure.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE is an international competition organized by FIRST for elementary and middle school students. It introduces scientific challenges for teams to research. We also design and build a robot that does tasks on a mission table.

As a team, we’ve learned how to research, code, and most importantly, how to get along with each other!

This year’s research theme is CARGO CONNECT, and students must identify a specific problem related to improving the transportation of goods or products—and we’ve narrowed it down to the transportation of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Every year, 1.5 million pounds of food are lost due to outbreaks of foodborne pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria, and hundreds of thousands of people are hospitalized.

Our innovative solution: bacteriophage-powdered packing peanuts! Bacteriophages are viruses that only kill their specific host bacterium, having no negative effect on human health. We will apply them onto biodegradable packing peanuts to disperse within the containers of fruits and vegetables. Our solution is organic, sustainable, and would be able to kill foodborne pathogens before they even arrive at the store!

We cannot meet our goal without the support of sponsors like you.

Would you consider making a donation to help sponsor our event? By giving to Trickum’s Robotics team, you will be able to help us manage our expenses to get to the World Festival and further our school’s robotics program.
